Background
At the 17 April 2024 Ordinary Meeting, Council resolved to prepare and advertise the draft Planning Policy. At the April 2024 Ordinary Council Meeting, Council resolved to prepare and advertise draft LPP – Wind Farms/Turbines. The draft Policy seeks to provide guidance to decision-makers for the establishment and operation of wind farms and turbines, ensuring sustainable development, while addressing community concerns.

The Shire’s recommendations to Council will take into consideration the submissions made as part of this consultation process.
Local Planning Policy to be presented to Council
Following the conclusion of advertising and assessment of submissions made, the draft Planning Policy will be presented to Council for consideration. Council will then resolve to either proceed, proceed with modifications, or not proceed with the draft Planning Policy.
