Stop Puppy Farming – consultation open
WA’s local governments are encouraged to have their say in the next stage of reforms to support the objectives of the Dog Amendment (Stop Puppy Farming) Act 2021.
A three-month consultation opens today (17 August 2023) encouraging feedback on a discussion paper on the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) website.
Responses will inform the development of:
draft regulations
specifications and functionality in the Centralised Registration System
resources needed by local government to implement and enforce legislative requirements.
DLGSC is also seeking feedback from community members, animal rehoming services, vet practices and other stakeholders.
