The Big Tractor
The Big Tractor
The tractor is a monument to Western Australian agriculture, manufacturing, and heritage and can be found on Yarra Street in Carnamah.
It is a five-times replica of the Chamberlain 40K, which was the first tractor manufactured in WA in 1949. The 40k and the models that followed played a significant role in the development of WA’s agricultural regions after the Second World War.
The tractor is 11.5 metres high, 16 metres long, and was constructed using 42 tonnes of steel by DIAB Engineering in Geraldton.
