There is plenty on offer this year over and above the basic fire courses with a number of higher end courses such as Machine Supervision, Ground Controller, Advanced Bushfire and Fire Control Officer.
Volunteer Members and members of the community are welcome to register their interest for any of the training locations.
The courses are a great opportunity to learn or further your own skills and a refresh what you have previously completed.
In the current and emerging WHS space it is imperative that all personnel attending bushfires have a basic fire training. These opportunities also allow farmers to take these qualification and skills back to their own farms and workplaces to assist them with their own bushfire WHS responsibilities on their properties.
DFES will also be publishing a short online Rural Fire Awareness Course in the near future which again will be a great opportunity for any new volunteers or temporary farm works to complete at their leisure.
